COMMENTS: When Macie was being born, Dona said 'It's the wrong color!' becasue her dam, Emmy, had previously produced 3 appaloosa cria from 3 different solid colored sires, so that's what we expected this time. Well, good things come to those who wait! Macie looked black at birth with gray ears and a bit of gray on her neck. As she has matured, she's gotten more and more gray, and she is definitely a dark rose as there are brown, black, and gray fibers throughout her fleece. This girl has presence gallore, which is a signature of her dam, all of her crias have that 'stand up and look at me' pose. She also has very soft dense fleece. Her sire, Bullet, is a son of 22.4 micron true black Bolivian Black Thunder, so she sure has potential to throw all kinds of great color. Macie is currently being bred to none other than the best Royal Fawn son ever produced: Dom Lucilio for a spring 2007 cria that should knock your socks off!
Fiber: Random sample drawn from the bag of her entire fleece: OFDA: AFD: 20.6; SD: 5.6; CV: 27.3; Comfort Factor: 95.2. Her dam maintains the following stats off her 6th shearing: AVD: 21.5; SD: 4.6; CV: 21.4; comfort factor: 95.1, again, this was a random pull from the bag, NOT a hand selected sample from the side of the prime fleece. Macie produced nearly 11 pounds of fleece '06!
